- Eric Haertling is a graduate of Piggott High School in Piggott, Arkansas. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master’s of Science in Nursing, and a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Arkansas State University.
- Eric Haertling has been practicing as a nurse practitioner for over 10 years and has experience with family practice, and chronic/acute illnesses. Different practice locations to include, Jonesboro Baptist Health, Paragould AMMC, West Memphis Hospital, and White River Medical Center.
- Eric Haertling enlisted in May 2002 with the 875th Engineer Battalion Bravo company serving as a heavy equipment operator and an Armored Vehicle-Launched Bridge Operator. Major Haertling progressed to the rank of E-5 Sergeant as a Team Leader in Bravo Company 875th Engineer Battalion. Eric Haertling was Commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 1038TH Horizontal Construction Company. Since Eric Haertling's commission, he has served as company executive officer, company commander, assistant BN S3, Brigade S2, BN S3, BN Executive Officer, and currently serves as the Brigade Operations Officer.
- Some of LTC Haertling's military education consists of various training courses including Engineer OSUT training, Engineer Officer Basic Course, Engineer Captains Career Course, DSCA phase 1 and 2, and Intermediate Level Education Course.
- LTC Haertling mobilized and deployed to the Green Zone in Baghdad Iraq as Platoon Leader for Alpha Company 1-153IN conducting security operations and traffic control points in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 2008.
- LTC Haertling has received numerous awards and decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal as well as other various Federal and State awards.
- LTC Haertling has three children, Ella, Jensen, and Emmeline.
